TOM REBL - the designer
Raised in Germany, educated in London and now executing his business from Milan, cutting-edge menswear designer Tom Rebl is available in the most prestigious boutiques around the globe. His distinctive style got him a solid client base including Karl Lagerfeld, Justin Timberlake and Usher. Tom is known for discovering new model talents and got a soft spot for eccentric „outsiders“.

ESTEBAN - the director
Esteban is the rising star in the fashion film industry. At his young age of 22, he is already directing projects from the initial concept all the way through to the end. He covers all aspects of the moving picture as well as photography. Following his unique style, Esteban is already producing innovative material and is right on track to become a well-respected director.

DANIEL BAMDAD - the model
„This is art“ is inked above his right eye - Daniel ́s favourite tattoo. He is considering his body as a piece of art. He spent about 100 hours getting tattooed by now. Paradoxically, super-inked Daniel is making a big stir in the fashion business, which is made-up of flawless bodies. Discovered only some months ago behind a bar, he already opened the Vivienne Westwood show at Milan Fashion Week and strutted the catwalk for Versace. He is definitely one to watch!

The conference and gala dinner took place amidst the wonderful surroundings of the Abbazia La Cervara. SDA Bocconi School of Management and Yacht Club Italiano promoted and invited at Rolex MBA's Conference & Regatta.

"Fashion Rebls" was organised by the event agency Golden Thread. The show was a mix of runway show and underground party at the Schrannenhalle in Munich´s city centre. TOM REBL SHOP WINDOW INSTALLATION IS CAUSING CONTROVERSY

The TOM REBL shop window installation in the picutresque old town of Rimini is causing controversy. Right in time for the start of the season, Tom teamed up with Bruno Bernardi and his antiques shop in Viale Dante Alighieri 13 in the heart of Rimini to create a shop window installation merging some TOM REBL highlights with antique cristal lampshades. But instead of using ordinary mannequins, Tom used some rather provocative blow-up dolls to present the looks. The reactions polarise very much and we get to hear comments of all colours.

Die TOM REBL-Installation in einem Schaufenster in der malerischen Altstadt Rimini sorgt für Diskussion und Widersprüche. Gerade rechtzeitig zum Saisonstart präsentierte Tom zusammen mit Bruno Bernardi, der einen Aniquitätenladen in Viale Dante Alighieri 13 führt, eine etwas ungewöhnliche Schaufensterinstallation, wo einige TOM REBL Highlights auf anitke Kristalllampen treffen. Nur dass dabei nicht gewöhnliche Puppen, sondern aufblasbare Gummipuppen die Looks tragen. Die Reaktionen auf diese Provokation ist extrem polarisierend und bringt Kommentare in allen Farben zum Vorschein.

GRAND OPENING OF THE SUPERCLUB PASCIA IN THE ITALIAN PARTY CAPITAL RICCIONE

The historic chandelier inside the club Pascià came to shine again for the re-opening weekend for Easter (note: the chandelier is the original from the movie “Il Gattopardo” from 1963 starring Claudia Cardinale, Alain Delon and Burt Lancaster). Two nights of mayhem and 4000 guest came to celebrate the opening. The new management restyled the interior and pool terrace. And Tom designed the exclusive outfits for the barmen and waiters, which will be followed by a limited TOM REBL merchandise capsule collection for vip guests.

Der berühmte Kronleuchter im Club Pascià wurde zur Wiedereröffnung an Ostern wieder zum Leuchten gebracht (Anmerkung: der Kronleuchter ist das Original aus dem Film “Il Gattopardo” aus dem Jahre 1963 mit Claudia Cardinale, Alain Delon und Burt Lancaster). Zwei ausgelassene Nächte und 4000 Gäste kamen, um die Eröffnung zu feiern. Das neue Management kümmerte sich um das Umstyling im Inneren und der Poolterrasse. Und Tom designte exklusive Outfits für die Barmänner und Kellner. Demnächst folgt eine limitierte TOM REBL Merchandisekollektion für Vip-Gäste.

In between pimples and buttocks! This time, acting talent Wilson Gonzales Ochsenknecht plays a different role. The son of actor Uwe (54, “Männersache”) and society lady Natascha (45) is portrayed unusually elegant in tailcoat, cylinder and bow-tie for the cover of BLANK magazine’s current issue. Inside, the 20-year-old (he actually just turned 20 a few days ago) poses with some hot chicks and is dressed exclusively in TOM REBL, as if he’d never done anything else in his life. The theme of the shoot: The graduate. Star-photographer MANUEL CORTEZ was deeply impressed by his model: “Wilson is very easy-going and cooperative. We had lots of fun during the shoot”, says the expert.

"Chaise Electrique" is the new song from Fally Ipupa featuring Olivia. In the video, Fally is wearing some TOM REBL pieces , such as the black and white coat with fur collar, the fur belt with lip-buckle and the fur bracelet.

At his concert in Paris in Januay 2010, the midnightblue 3-piece suit, which was worn by Fally caused standing ovations.

"Chaise Electrique" heisst die neue Single von Fally Ipupa featuring Olivia. In dem Video trägt Fally Stücke aus TOM REBL Kollektionen , wie z.B den schwarz-weissen Mantel mit Pelzkragen, den Pelzguertel mit Lippenschnalle und das Pelzarmband.

Bei seinem Konzert in Paris im Januar 2010 sorgte der nachtblaue 3-teilige Samtanzug für standing ovations, den Fally auf der Bühne trug.

Fashion was the key word in Berlin last week. This time TOM REBL was there with a number of events and show that caught attention. As you could read there was a TOM REBL fashion cocktail on the 21st of January and a TOM REBL label night on the 23rd. In addition to these, there was also an appearance at Fashion Rock Night at the Universal Hall, which was planned last minute. Here you can get now some exclusive background information.

Berlin stand letzte Woche ganz im Zeichen von Fashion. Dieses Mal auch mit Events und Shows von TOM REBL, die für Aufsehen sorgten. Wie du schon lesen konntest gab es den TOM REBL Fashion Cocktail am 21. und die TOM REBL Label Night am 23. Januar. Dazu kam noch ein Auftritt bei der Fashion Rock Night von Universal Records am 22., der in letzter Minute beschlossen wurde. Hier nun die exklusiven Hintergrundinfos.

One day before the fashion cocktail, many VIPs came to the TOM REBL Berlin homebase, in the CONCORDE Hotel at the KU’DAMM, to provide them with outfits for the forthcoming days. Among them were Wilson Gonzales Ochsenknecht , Jay Kahn from US5 or Manuel Cortez. At night Tom Rebl attended the parties of DIESEL and FASHION TV.

Zwar fand der Fashion Cocktail am 21. statt aber schon einen Tag zuvor wurden in der TOM REBL Berlin Homebase, dem CONCORDE Hotel am KU’DAMM verschiedene Fittings mit Promis wie z.B. Wilson Gonzales Ochsenknecht , Jay Kahn von US5 oder Manuel Cortez durchgeführt um Ihnen Outfits für die vielen roten Teppiche der kommenden Tage zu leihen. Am Abend hieß es dann für Tom Rebl, ab zu den Partys von DIESEL und Fashion TV.

Fitting at the Homebase

On the 21st the restaurant PAUL at the KU’DAMM had first to be „reblised“. Logos of the label and posters with the new Autumn Winter collection 2010/2011 were hung, tents were built and a press was set up. Even the days before the fashion cocktail you could feel that it was going to be huge, as invitations were requested until the last moment. The red (black) carpet was rolled out and the doors opened at 19:00 o’clock. Soon came the first VIPs and with them flash lights from nearly 30 photographers and television teams that were present. Manuel Cortez, Jay Kahn, Sarina Nowak, , Anni Wendler, Sarah Knappik, Holger Stromberg, Senna Gammour, Wilson Gonzales Ochsenknecht, Kader Loth, Mousse T., Werner Schreyer and many more came. During the night all quests waited for the arrival of Jesus Luz, but he had to cancel last minute. The hype about his appearance was too much for him. Nevertheless, this changed nothing in the general mood. Everyone had a good time and Tom Rebl the best, as you can see on the photos. After midnight many of the VIPs did not want to leave, so Tom invited them to join him at the party of adidas. At the end it was long night!

Am 21 Januar musste erstmals das brandneue Restaurant PAUL am KU’DAMM Nr. 51 „reblisiert“ werden, wie mit dem Logo des Labels, Fotoplakaten der neuen Winter Kollektion 2010/2011, Pressewänden, Absperrgitter und Zelten. Schon die Tage zuvor hat man bemerkt dass dieses Event einen großen Hype ausgelöst hatte, nicht zuletzt wegen der ständigen Gästeliste-Anfragen. Um 19:00 Uhr wurden dann die Türen geöffnet und der rote (schwarze) Teppich ausgerollt. Langsam kamen auch die ersten VIPs und mit ihnen auch das Blitzlichtgewitter von den ca. 30 Fotografen und zahlreichen TV Teams. Mit dabei: Manuel Cortez, Jay Kahn, Sarina Nowak, , Anni Wendler, Sarah Knappik, Holger Stromberg, Senna Gammour, Wilson Gonzales Ochsenknecht, Kader Loth, Mousse T., Werner Schreyer und viele viele andere. Während des Abends warteten die Gäste auch auf Jesus Luz, er hatte aber im letzten Moment abgesagt. Ihm wurde der Presserummel zu groß. Das hatte aber nichts an der fantastischen Stimmung verändert. Alle hatten ihren Spass und Tom Rebl am meisten, wie du auf den Fotos sehen kannst. Weit nach Mitternacht wollten viele Prominente immer noch nicht gehen und Tom Rebl lud sie spontan ein, mit Ihm noch auf die VIP Feier von adidas mit zu kommen. Es wurde eine lange Nacht!

Fashion Cocktail

The next day started early. A camera team from ZDF channel accompanied Tom Rebl the whole day. The show of Marcel Ostertag, a close friend of Tom, was the first thing on the to-do list. After that followed the show of Kilian Kerner and then straight to the Universal Hall to prepare the TOM REBL show. Fashion Rock Night takes place once a year at the time of the fashion week and includes fashion shows from labels with a rock attitude and live music. This year’s band was MOKE, Karl Lagerfeld’s new favourite, and piece from brands like Amplifie, Elf Craft and others. As Tom Rebl loves rock, he decided spontaneously to take part in the show some days before. Pieces of the new Autumn Winter collection 2010/2011, but also clothes that made TOM REBL famous, were shown around 23.30 and accompanied by hits of MOKE. Among the models were also stars like Wilson Gonzales Ochsenknecht, Manuel Cortez or Sarina and Anni. The last two can be seen these days in the prime time series „die Model-WG“ on PRO7 and were a surprise for the press, as it was secret. The highlight of the show came at the end. TOM REBL sent out a model completely naked, wearing only a hat and a leather corsetry. An unforgettable moment that made its way out to the world through Reuters and dpa.

Schon früh begann der nächste Tag, ein Team vom ZDF begleitete Tom Rebl den ganzen Tag für eine Reportage über ihn. Erst ging es zur Show von Marcel Ostertag, ein sehr guter Freund von Tom Rebl, dann weiter zur Kilian Kerner Show und im Anschluss direkt zur Universal Hall um die TOM REBL Show vorzubereiten. Die Fashion Rock Night findet jedes Jahr während der Fashion Week statt und beinhaltet Shows mit rockiger Mode unterstrichen mit Live Musik. Dieses Jahr mit der Band MOKE, Karl Lagerfelds neuen Schützlingen, und mit Mode von Amplified, Elf Craft u.a . TOM REBL liebt das rockige und hatte sich nur wenige Tage zuvor entschieden, spontan an dem Event teilzunehmen. Um 23.30 wurden dann, zu den größten Charthits von MOKE, Teile aus der neuen Winter Kollektion 2010/2011 vorgestellt, so wie Stücke die TOM REBL international bekannt gemacht haben. Mit auf dem Laufsteg für TOM REBL: Stars wie Wilson Gonzales Ochsenknecht, Manuel Cortez oder Sarina und Anni die im Moment in der Pro7 prime time Sendung „die Model-WG“ zu sehen sind. Eine besondere Überraschung, welche bis zur letzten Minute vor der Presse geheim gehalten wurde. Absolutes Highlight war das nackte Model das TOM REBL rausschickte nur mit Hut und einer Lederkorsage. Ein Bild das überall für Aufsehen sorgte und von Reuters und der dpa weltweit publiziert wurde.

Saturday: the last day oft he fashion week und the TOM REBL label night at PURO. Over 1,300 guests responded to the invitation of the label. Tom Rebl himself made his walks through the quests and had some fun with them, whereas VIPS were chatting or posing for some photographers.

Samstag ; der letzte Tag der Fashion Week und der Abend der TOM REBL Label Night im PURO. Über 1.300 Gäste folgten der Einladung des Labels. Tom Rebl selber mischte sich unter die Leute und spaßte mit ihnen herum, während sich VIPs brav unterhielten oder für Fotos posierten.

To sum up, Berlin was a huge success and great fun for everybody. Let’s wait for the surprises of the next one!

BOOBIE T-SHIRT

One of the pieces of TOM REBL, which is undoubtedly one of the most famous, is the legendary Boobie T-shirt. It was first produced in 2009 as a limited edition and soon became a must-have. The story behind this t-shirt reflects perfectly ,,shocking radiance”. The photo printed on it was taken in Milan after a wild party night of Tom, his friends and some of his staff. Back in his studio Tom took his camera and started taking pictures of his female staff and the result was this crazy and bold photo. In fact most of the photos printed on the shirts were taken in this spontaneous and unrestrained way. That’s why they are so dynamic and not set-up. It was launched pretty fast in shops and became a huge success. Actually such a big success, that there was a second edition of it, but with a slight change: The face of the girl was replaced by a wolf mask. One way or another, the t-shirt still attracts, especially many celebrities. Jenny and Sara from GNTM wear it. Eines der Stücke aus dem Hause TOM REBL mit dem höchsten Bekanntheitsgrad stellt unweigerlich das Boobie T-Shirt dar. Rausgekommen ist es 2009 als limited summer edition und wurde sofort ein must-have. Die Geschichte die dahinter steckt spiegelt auch nur zu gut ,,shocking radiance“ wider. Das Bild dazu ist in Mailand entstanden nach einer wilden Partynacht von Tom, seinen Mitarbeitern und einigen Freunden von ihm. Die Sommerkollektion 2010, genannt "LIPLINER", war Tom's erste offiziele Show bei der Mailänder Fashion Week und erregt schon Aufsehen in Zeitschriften und Blogs. Sie weist auf eine 70er Jahre Kreuzfahrt hin, aber in einem modernen Kontext. Matrosenhosen mit Boot-Cut werden mit Jacken aus Nylon kombiniert und mit durchsichtigen und luftigen Stricksachen abgerundet. The Spring/Summer 2010 collection “LIPLINER” was Tom’s first official show during Milan Fashion Week. The collection has already been mentioned in magazines and blogs. It references a 70s cruise ship attitude, but put in a contemporary context. Boot-cut sailor trousers are paired with nylon windbreakers and team up with transparent knit pieces in a breezy cotton crepon. Sailor top yoke details and innovative hand-made dying techniques with a lived-in vintage feel give the denim jacket a new lease of life. Dominant throughout the collection are dots and pois, which appear in jacquards, tye-dye and prints. The focus lies on suiting and jackets. The razor-sharp spencer jackets have this certain uniform touch, which is a red thread going through all TOM REBL collections. The label's subtitle "shocking radiance" reflects Elsa Schiaparelli. With the usage of the word "shocking" TOM REBL links its collections with the couturier. The label itself stands for surrealism, just like Schiappareli. The world beyond realism is the source of creativity and extraordinary things. This exactly is the philosophy behind the brand. In practice, Tom wants to escape the basic roles of the garment, like functionality and pure adornment. It should funtcion as the extension of your personality or emotions and not just be a common uniform among the mass.

TOM REBL - AN INTRODUCTION

Before starting his selftitled label, Tom worked in London with stints at Vivienne Westwood, Alexander McQueen,Luella, Marjan Pejoski and Issa. He also worked for renowned and top magazines like "The Face" and "i-D" as a stylist. In 2005 he became creative director of Andrew MacKenzie, inovated it and helped to reach peak turnovers .

Then came his first men's collection A.W 08/09 which was presentend in his schowroom in Milan, during Fashion Week. This was followed by the S.S 09 collection under the title "The Parade". The source of inspiration were the late 60s and 70s and clashed the military uniform with the peace movement. He finally established himself with the third collection which is sold out now in the best shops worldwide. Among them are Dantone (Milan), Planisphere (Paris), Royal Flash (Tokyo), Amalga (New York), Villa Moda (Dubai), Abseits (Stuttgart), Stierblut (München) and Statione (Frankfurt).

The mixture of excellent technical skills, which are a result of his years at the Dt. Meisterschule für Mode in Germany, and his captivating creativity, which was nurtured during his studies at the Central St.Martins College in London, give his collection this extraordinary style.

Bevor Tom sein gleichnamiges Label gründete, wirkte er in London unter anderem bei Vivienne Westwood, Alexander McQueen,Luella, Marjan Pejoski oder Issa und arbeitete auch für renommierte und top Magazine wie "The Face" und "i-D" als Stylist. 2005 war er dann als creative director für Andrew MacKenzie tätig, wo er dem Unternehmen zu hohen Umsätzen führte.

Dann folgte seine erste Herrenkollektion für den HerbstWinter 08/09, zeitgleich mit der Mailänder Fashion Woche, die in seinem Atelier stattfand. Darauf kam dann die Sommerkollektion 2009 unter dem Titel "The Parade". Diese geht zurück in die späten 60er und 70er und konfrontiert die Militäruniform mit der Friedensbewegung. Spätenstens mit der Herbst/Winter 09/10 Kollektion etablierte sich Tom Rebl in den besten Läden und ist bekannt für die qualitativ hochwertige und innovative Arbeit. Einige darunter sind Dantone (Milan), Planisphere (Paris), Royal Flash (Tokyo), Amalga (New York), Villa Moda (Dubai), Abseits (Stuttgart), Stierblut (München) und Statione (Frankfurt).
Das Fachkönnen als Resultat der Jahre in der Dt.Meisterschule für Mode in Verbindung mit dem Studium an der St.Martins London, zusammen mit seiner Kreativität geben den Kollektionen den außergewöhnlichen Stil.
